FLO Fresh Fruit partners

FLO International works with fresh fruit producer organisations in Africa and Latin America. Most of the organisations export by themselves, while 4 registered exporters cooperate with some of the producer organisations to take care that the commodity is shipped in time to satisfy the FLO registered fresh fruit importers (10) and licensees (1) in Europe. FLO deals with banana, Exotic Fruit (banana and pineapple), Sub-tropical fruit (avocado, mango), Citrus fruit (lemon, lime, orange,soft citrus), Deciduous Fruit (apple, grape,pear, plum).


At present, 23 producer organisations are FLO certified in the following countries:

FLO Banana Partners

FLO International works with banana producer partners is Africa, South America, Central America and the Caribbean. Currently, there are 18 FLO certified producer organisations.

Most of the producers sell their bananas as fresh fruit. In Brazil, the producer partner transforms their bananas into dried bananas. One of the FLO partners in Costa Rica produces dried banana and puree and one in Ecuador produces banana puree.

The registered partners producing organic banana are:
• 3 groups of small holders and 2 plantations in the   Dominican Republic
• 1 plantation in Ecuador and 3 groups of small holders
• 3 groups of small holders in Peru

Some of the producer organisations export by themselves, others cooperate with FLO registered exporters (10) who take care that the commodity is shipped in time to satisfy the FLO registered banana importers (21), licensees (26) and more than 5 ripeners in Europe.
