Rice Partners
Actually there are 10 FLO registered producer organisations in the
rice register. 5 organisations are producing under organic conditions,
the other four under conventional conditions, whilst one is in the
process of conversion into organic. All groups are registered as
smallholder organisations. 4 exporters, 12 importers, 1 manufacturer
in Switzerland and six licensees are guaranteeing a better deal
for producers.

The Fairtrade rice coming from India is Basmati rice. 4 organisations
from Thailand produce Fairtrade organic Jasmin rice and the other
two produce Fairtrade conventional long grain rice. The Fairtrade
rice from Egypt is organic white philipini rice, brown philipini
rice and aromatic rice.
