Monitoring the scope and benefits of Fairtrade: Asia Pacific region - Monitoring report, 14th Edition
This report includes 2021 monitoring data for the Asia Pacific region, as well as results of producer surveys. Producer organizations in Asia Pacific make up about 16% of all Fairtrade certified organizations worldwide: by the end of 2021, there were 300 Fairtrade producer organizations in 19 countries throughout the region. More than 270,000 farmers and workers in the region make up about 13% of the global total in the Fairtrade system. Producers in the region earned €15 million in Fairtrade Premium in 2021 to spend on projects of their choice. Coffee, tea and cotton are the highest selling Fairtrade products in the region and make up almost 80% of all Premium earned, followed by cane sugar, rice, and herbs, herbal teas and spices.
