The Global Coalition for Social Justice aims to intensify collective efforts to urgently address social justice deficits and to accelerate the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Sustainable Development Goals, and the Decent Work Agenda.

“This is an excellent opportunity to share with others our practices to improve the lives of small-scale farmers and workers, as well as learn from them,” said Melissa Duncan, the executive director of Fairtrade International. “I am proud that we are a part of this important coalition.”

Fairtrade International joins a list of national governments, international organisations, and non-governmental organisations, among many others, who are equally committed to workers and social justice.

Fairtrade has been promoting social justice in global supply chains for nearly 30 years. It works to achieve greater balance among the economic, social, and environmental dimensions of sustainable agriculture, while reducing inequalities and poverty.
