Monitoring the scope and benefits of Fairtrade: Latin American and Caribbean region - Monitoring report, 13th Edition

This report includes 2020 monitoring data for the Latin America and Caribbean region, as well as results of producer surveys. Producer organizations in Latin America and the Caribbean make up about half of all Fairtrade certified organizations worldwide: by the end of 2020, there were 950 Fairtrade producer organizations in 22 countries throughout the region. More than 354,000 farmers and workers in the region make up about 18 percent of the global total in the Fairtrade system. Producers in the region earned €126.8 million in Fairtrade Premium in 2020 to spend on projects of their choice. Coffee and bananas are the highest selling Fairtrade products in the region, followed by cane sugar, cocoa and fresh fruit.
