As we move into the second half of the Fairbruary 2025 campaign, Fairtrade is calling on shoppers to contribute to fair and better working conditions for farmers and workers.
By making mindful purchases of Fairtrade-certified products such as chocolate, coffee, bananas, flowers, and clothing we can make a difference in the lives of farmers and workers who often struggle to meet their basic needs that include food, water, housing, education, and health care.
This year’s awareness-raising campaign, led by Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Czechia, and Switzerland, has a powerful theme - In February. Simply live fairly.
Social responsibility can be lived in local communities around the world. When we shop, we are not only shopping for ourselves, but we are also shopping for the environment, the world, and the future we want to have. The fact is that small, simple choices can make a big difference.
In addition to buying Fairtrade-certified products, there are other fun ways to get involved.
For example, share a photo on your social channels of a home-cooked meal made with Fairtrade-certified products – and don’t forget to include #Fairbruary. Be sure to encourage family, friends, and colleagues to participate in the campaign – the more consumers get involved the bigger the impact. And depending on country, consumers can take part in interactive quizzes and contests with fantastic prizes.
Let’s each do our part this month and show a unified commitment to trade justice.
