Sustainable Collaborations: Advocacy Initiatives

Fairtrade NAPP advocates for policies that empower smallholder farmers and workers across Asia to thrive in global markets -- We believe that fair trade starts with fair policies, ensuring that producers have equal opportunities, access to resources, and a voice in shaping the sustainable global trade.

Regional Advocacy Strategy

The Fairtrade Global Strategy 2021-2025 positions advocacy as a key tool for advancing sustainable incomes and wages for producers and workers, and Fairtrade NAPP aligns its efforts with this framework, adapting it to the unique context of the Asia and Pacific region.

Our Regional Advocacy Strategy 2023-2025 outlines a comprehensive, regionally focused plan aimed at empowering communities, influencing public policy, and driving socio-economic change. This strategy not only reflects NAPP’s core values but also serves as a unifying framework for advocacy efforts across key countries—India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, and Uzbekistan—where tailored, in-depth approaches are being developed to address local needs and challenges. The strategy’s design is informed by the evolving risk environment in Asia-Pacific acknowledging the diverse development contexts within the region, and is structured to strengthen NAPP’s operations over the next three years.

Our advocacy initiatives are at the forefront of driving policy changes, ensuring fair trade practices, and promoting the rights of smallholder farmers and workers across Asia and the Pacific. Our efforts are geared towards creating long-term, sustainable change by amplifying the voices of producers and advocating for their needs on a global platform.
