FT NAPP offers comprehensive pre-audit and post-audit support, assisting producers in preparing for the audit by reviewing their operations, identifying potential gaps, and addressing areas for improvement. This preparation helps ensure that producers meet all the requirements. Following the audit, NAPP continues providing guidance in implementing any corrective measures needed, ensuring that producers maintain their certification and continue to meet Fairtrade standards.

  To ensure that producers meet and maintain Fairtrade standards, Fairtrade NAPP provides extensive training and education. This training covers Fairtrade principles, certification processes, and ongoing compliance requirements. By familiarizing farmers and workers with the expectations of Fairtrade certification, we equip them with the knowledge to uphold ethical production practices, protect workers' rights, and implement sustainable farming techniques.

  Facilitate Improved Governance of Producer Organizations (POs)

  Effective governance is key to the success of any producer organization. Fairtrade NAPP offers targeted support to improve the governance structures of producer organizations in areas such as organizational development, financial management, and negotiation skills. Through these programs, producers learn how to effectively manage their organizations, negotiate fair contracts, and ensure transparency and accountability within their operations.

  Fairtrade-certified producers receive a Fairtrade Premium, an additional amount on top of the Fairtrade minimum price intended for community and organizational development. FairtradeNAPP provides critical support to producer organizations by offering comprehensive training on the effective management of these funds, ensuring they are used responsibly, transparently, and strategically. This training includes guiding producers and Premium Committee members on prioritizing investments that address the social, environmental, and economic needs of farmers, workers and their communities.

  To ensure continuous compliance with Fairtrade standards, FT NAPP assists producers in identifying and supporting objective evidence to close non-compliance. We conduct gap assessments to pinpoint areas where producers may fall short of the required standards and provide actionable recommendations for improvement. Our post-audit support services also help producers correct any issues identified during audits, ensuring they meet certification requirements.

  As part of our commitment to strengthening the Fairtrade system, we represent the voices of producers at global Fairtrade working groups, ensuring their interests are central to decision-making processes. Through regular consultations with producers,  FT NAPP advocates for their rights in critical discussions on Fairtrade standards, pricing consultations, policy reviews, and the future direction of the Fairtrade system. By amplifying producers' perspectives, we help create a fair and equitable trading system that addresses their needs. Through strengthening our regional product networks we foster localised coordination, providing tailored support, and enhancing market access for producers, further empowering them within the global supply chain.
