COVID-19 Fairtrade Emergency Initiative in Vietnam
This Project is a part of the ‘COVID-19 Fairtrade Emergency Initiave’ funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ)in cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ.
On Oct 2020 Fairtrade entered into a partnership with GIZ, German Agency for International Cooperation for providing direct support to producers on the frontline of the pandemic. The 'COVID-19 Fairtrade Emergency Initiative' is was funded by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) for implementing various short and long -term initiatives to help the Fairtrade farmers and workers in 05 countries: Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam to recover and build their resilience during COVID-19. The Project has benefit approximately 46147 direct and indirect beneficiaries. In Vietnam, an E-commerce website was developed for supporting coffee producers with online trading of Fairtrade products in the domestic market. Emergency Kit consisting of Food and other essential items were also distributed among the Fairtrade farming communities benefiting 15 SPOs and 925 Households.
