Internal Reporting Office
Fairtrade International has entrusted Dr. Jan Heuer and Christina Hartmann with the execution of the Internal Reporting Office (Ombudspersons).
Role of the Ombudspersons
The Ombudspersons will serve as independent, impartial resources for Fairtrade International. They will:
- Manage the confidential ‘Internal Reporting Channel’ on the Fairtrade Whistleblower Portal, for addressing employee concerns (more information coming soon)
- Offer trainings on the Fairtrade Whistleblower Portal and the German Whistleblower act and other applicable laws
- Help navigate complex situations by engaging with the leadership and the compliance unit as needed
- Support our commitment to transparency and accountability
Introducing our Ombudspersons
We are happy to welcome two distinguished individuals to serve as Fairtrade International’s Ombudspersons:
Dr. Jan Heuer is a certified Employment Law Specialist and a partner at the law firm KLIEMT, which is specialized in employment law. He is an expert in the area of the Whistleblower Protection Act and has already supported numerous companies in the introduction of internal reporting channels. Jan himself has been appointed as an Ombudsperson at several of these companies.
