Our projects & programmes

Fairtrade NAPP is dedicated to a comprehensive approach that encompasses a holistic 360-degree intervention model designed to meet the diverse sustainable needs of agricultural farmers and workers across Asia. Our programs address critical areas such as sustainable trade, capacity-building, environmental stewardship, and social equity, while fostering collaboration and partnerships.

Projects versus programmes – what’s the difference?

Fairtrade NAPP projects are targeted, time-bound interventions designed to achieve specific objectives, while programmes represent broader, long-term initiatives aimed at advancing key thematic areas of our work. Often, multiple interrelated projects operate within a larger programme framework and are funded with the support of institutional donors and funding agencies.

All programmes are aligned with Fairtrade NAPP's strategic focus, providing comprehensive support to farmers and workers. This includes addressing critical issues such as climate and environment (SDG 13), promoting the inclusion of women and youth (SDG 5 and SDG 10), protecting human rights for workers and children (SDG 8), promoting responsible production and consumption (SDG 12), building sustainable farming communities (SDG 11), partnership for the goals (SDG 17).

The initiatives are designed to empower farmers and workers to tackle their most pressing challenges, achieve sustainable livelihoods, and gain control over their lives by striving for living incomes and living wages. The activities planned are impact-oriented, and time-bound and aim to support a growing number of farmers and workers in Asia- Pacific region in accessing markets for sustainably produced products.

Our time bound projects are developed and implemented in partnership with governments, NGOs, producers, researchers, and the private sector. Funding comes from external sources, including institutional donors or commercial partners, or is provided internally by Fairtrade International,  National Fairtrade Marketing Organisations (NFOs) and Fairtrade commercial partners.
